FAIRMONT — Matthew Cox, a south Georgia resident, was browsing the law subreddit on Wednesday when a piece of news began spreading quickly.
Portions of the U.S. Constitution that enshrine habeas corpus and the powers of Congress had been deleted from the Library of Congress’s website that house its annotated U.S. Constitution. Beth Osborne, a law librarian who works in the law library reading room of the Library of Congress, attributed the deletion to a coding error, and referred further questions to the Library’s media relations team. The Library of Congress later re-stated the coding error on Twitter.
