Turkish Airlines is preparing a bid for the Spanish carrier Air Europa. The news comes shortly after Germany’s Lufthansa and the Franco-Dutch airline group Air France-KLM withdrew their bids to acquire a stake in Spain’s third-largest airline.
The Turkish Airlines executive stated during the company’s second-quarter earnings call that the Turkish flag carrier will “provide a binding offer very soon,” adding that the purchase proposal would be disclosed publicly after it wins the board's approval, according to a report by Reuters .
