In late July, federal agents stopped Tae Heung “Will” Kim , a Lyme disease researcher at Texas A&M University, at San Francisco International Airport as he returned from attending a wedding in his native South Korea. The agents took Kim, who is a green-card holder and has lived in the United States since he was 5 years old, into secondary screening before detaining him for a week at the airport. He is now at an immigration detention center and facing deportation.
