BOSTON — A group of Democratic Texas state lawmakers held a protest outside the Massachusetts Statehouse on Wednesday to rally opposition to the “gerrymandered” U.S. House maps sought by President Donald Trump and Texas Republican leadership ahead of next year’s midterms.
The lawmakers, who face fines and the possibility of arrest for fleeing Texas ahead of a scheduled vote on the congressional redistricting, gathered with legislators from several other states who were attending the National Conference of State Legislature’s annual meeting across town. ×
