BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - After the deadly 2021 mass shooting at Kent Moore Cabinets in Bryan, legislative action was taken to remedy pitfalls in state laws.

Larry Bollin opened fire in the Kent Moore Cabinets warehouse in Bryan on April 8, 2021, killing one of his co-workers and injuring five others. Bollin then fled the scene to his home in Iola where a Texas DPS Trooper found him. That’s when he shot at the trooper’s vehicle. Bullets traveled through the windshield, hitting his eye and leaving him permanently blind on one side. Bollin was later detained by troopers in Bedias.
