BOSSIER CITY, La. - As the new school year begins, excitement fills the halls of R.V. Kerr Elementary, especially for two first-time educators, Madison Stroud and Reagan Brown. Kerr Elementary is welcoming seven new teachers this school year, three will teach 1st grade.

“I’m very excited. It’s something I’ve thought about my whole life,” shared Stroud. “I became a substitute teacher last year, and from day one, I absolutely loved it.”

Now teaching first grade, Stroud is eagerly preparing for her first class of students.

“I can’t wait to see the faces of the students who will become mine for the entire year. I want to make sure they feel inspired, supported, and excited to learn,” she said.
