SALT LAKE CITY – Shots were fired Wednesday after an investigation led law enforcement to West Jordan.

At approximately 11:14 a.m., the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force was conducting an investigation, which led them to West Jordan to arrest a “male suspect,” according to Sgt. Andrews with the West Jordan Police Department.

During the suspect’s arrest, police said an altercation occurred and the task force fired shots.

It was not immediately known if the suspect fired shots during the altercation.

Following the altercation, the suspect was taken to a hospital in stable condition, though police did not confirm if he had gunshot wounds.

Police said the active crime scene is located at 7800 South at 1900 West until approximately 1825 West.
