The temperature in the Salt Lake Valley may be flirting with 100 degrees Fahrenheit this week, but in 100 days, you could be sliding down a snow-covered slope at Solitude Mountain Resort.
The Big Cottonwood Canyon ski area announced Wednesday that it plans to open for the season Nov. 14 .
That tentative date is set for later on the calendar than the past three opening days at the resort — which is making a habit of being the first in Utah to open. Last season, Solitude began turning its lifts on Nov. 8 . In both the 2023-24 season and the 2022-23 season, it opened Nov. 10 .
