The National Association of Black Bookstores (NAB2) officially launched on Aug. 6

Blanche Richardson, a founding NAB2 board member and bookstore owner, says in a statement that NAB2 "will allow for the further growth and flourishing of these important institutions"

A new organization dedicated to uplifting Black-owned bookstores has been founded.

The National Association of Black Bookstores (NAB2) officially launched on Aug. 6. The non-profit, member-based organization is the first and only collective centered on uplifting Black-owned bookstores and booksellers, per a statement shared with PEOPLE.
