The Government crackdown on cosmetic cowboys is a welcome announcement for the British Beauty Council, which has been campaigning for regulations on the aesthetic sector since 2018, during which time cosmetic treatments in the UK have been on the rise.
The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) reported that 27,462 procedures were performed in 2024, while consumer spending on services is up 15 per cent year on year, according to the Value of Beauty report by Oxford Economics.
