Hayley Grills was left heartbroken when the bear, named Ted, was lost at the weekend.

The teddy is 40 years old, having been handed down to Hayley by her mother.

It was lost at Belfast International Airport last Saturday, August 1, at around 9.30pm on the easyJet flight EJU7257 from Palma to Belfast International.

Hayley’s father, Thomas, said: “Ted is her comfort; anytime she has any of the bad feelings Hayley has, she looks to Ted.

“He was with her when we landed. After walking through the airport, we realised that he was gone.”

Hayley has been attached to the bear most of her life.

“She picked him up when she was two, and she has hardly put him back down since,” he said.

“He is part of her bedtime routine, her travels, her sense of safety and home.
