With daily highs reaching 114 degrees and basically staying there, it’s been a hot start to August. In fact, the first five days have been the fourth-hottest start to August in Phoenix history , according to the National Weather Service.
“These temperatures are absolutely warmer than normal,” NWS meteorologist Ted Whittock said.
Currently, it’s around 10 degrees hotter outside in Phoenix than the average start to August. Normally, Phoenix will see early August temperatures of around 105 degrees. So far, it’s been well above that.
