A Claremont man will spend at least six years in prison for larceny and other charges.
Carl Lloyd Almany III, 31, pleaded guilty to obtaining property by false pretense, tampering with an inventory control device and two counts of habitual larceny. Almany entered his plea during Catawba County Superior Court on Tuesday, District Attorney Scott Reilly’s office said in a news release.
Almany is a habitual felon, the release said.
Superior Court Judge Jacqueline Grant sentenced Almany to spend six to nine years in a state prison. Almany’s sentence will begin once he completes a prison sentence he is already serving, the district attorney’s office said.
The crimes Almany pleaded guilty to happened between May 30 and July 16, 2024, the district attorney’s office said.
