More than 600 airports across the US and its territories have commercial flights in August . That's based on examining schedules using OAG data. Of these, the top 10 facilities for flights are Chicago O'Hare, Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Seattle, New York JFK, Houston Intercontinental, and Boston. Of course, the order would be different for other measurements, including passengers.

The top 10 airports collectively have 16,000+ daily passenger aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings combined). More than half of the country's services are to/from them. Combined, they have grown by a very modest 0.2% compared to last August. This result was particularly influenced by Chicago O'Hare's growth (+9.1%), but balanced by Charlotte's big reduction
