SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Temperatures continue to climb above normal as we head into the weekend.

Thursday’s highs in the valley will once again reach the mid to upper 90s. Temperatures will top out in the low 90s in the foothills and the upper 70s in the Sierra.

As two warm weather systems tighten aloft, heat will increase over the weekend, with Impact Days marked for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Low triple-digit temperatures are forecast for all four days in the valley, with overnight lows in the mid-60s.

To stay safe in the heat:

- Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, usually between 2 pm and 5 pm

- Drink plenty of water throughout the day

- Never leave children or pets in parked cars

- Wear light, loose-fitting clothing, and take frequent breaks if w
