ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford is serving as a host to a major world softball tournament this weekend with another event coming next month.

The 2025 North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) World Series is being held at Mercyhealth Sportscore One from Thursday, Aug. 7 to Sunday, August 10.

The event, hosted by GoRockford and the Rockford Park District, will draw over 1,200 players, coaches, and spectators to the area for the men's tournament. Approximately 40 teams from 30 states and six countries, including Brazil, Argentina, and Canada, will compete in divisions based on skill and experience.

This is the third time Rockford has hosted this prestigious event, last held in 2015.
