SYRACUSE, New York (WWNY) - A Winthrop woman has passed away following a boating incident over the weekend.

New York State Police say they were informed of the death of 29-year-old Tracey Billhardt on August 5.

On Sunday, August 3, State Police were called to the Massena intake boat launch for a report of an unconscious woman on a boat.

CPR was in progress when the boat arrived at the launch.

Emergency responders took over lifesaving measures.

Billhardt was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where she succumbed to her injuries.

An autopsy was conducted on August 6 at Upstate Medical University Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Yekaterina Merkulova from the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The autopsy results are pending a toxicology report.
