ROSWELL, Ga. — Nearly two dozen former Roswell mayors and city council members delivered a scathing letter Wednesday to city hall, accusing current leadership of breaking campaign promises, wasteful spending and illegally clearing century-old trees at historic Mimosa Hall.

"This is the first time we've ever come together on anything," said Jere Wood, who served as mayor for 20 years. "Those trees will take 150 years to grow back. Those gardens will never be replaced."

The letter also claims the city projected $2 million in nonexistent parking revenue to balance the budget while spending millions on consultants and experiencing unprecedented staff turnover.
