Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine was joined by local officials, community members, historical societies and members of the County’s 250 th Anniversary Commemorative Planning Committee to officially launch Suffolk County’s “America 250” celebration — a bi-county initiative marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and Suffolk’s part in America’s history.

“Suffolk County played a pivotal role in the American Revolution,” said County Executive Romaine. “As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we are proud to honor our local history and the stories that helped shape our nation.”
