Former UConn star Aaliyah Edwards is returning to Connecticut to continue her WNBA career.

The Connecticut Sun announced Thursday the team has acquired Edwards from the Washington Mystics.

The deal sends Jacy Sheldon to the Mystics. The teams will also swap their first-round draft picks in 2026.

Edwards was drafted by the Mystics with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

She has averaged 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists while playing 18.5 minutes per game with Washington.
