More federal law enforcement officers are expected to patrol D.C. on Thursday and Friday at the direction of the Trump administration, a D.C. official and White House official said.
Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office confirmed to News4 that more federal officials are expected. Chief of Police Pamela Smith said she is aware that an increased federal presence will come to the District but was not briefed on the plan.

Federal officials in D.C. may include officers from the FBI, National Guard, Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a White House official told NBC News.
It’s unclear what the agents were directed to do or what their role would be, beyond being present on federal property, a D.C.
