DASHWOOD – Members of the Dashwood-based Youth Bluewater Tug of War team are about to make history.

Ten members of the team have been busily training for this year’s international youth tug of war competition in the Netherlands, where they will be the first North America team to compete. The team, under the guidance of coaches and brothers Ted and Rob Hoffman, leave for Amsterdam on Sunday, Aug. 24, where they’ll enjoy a bit of sightseeing as well as continue to train for the GENSB International Junior Tug of War Tournament, which takes place Saturday, Aug. 30, in the village of Heino, about 90 minutes east of Amsterdam.
