The Google Pixel 6 Pro has been dealing with a long-standing issue that causes the camera app to crash when users try to zoom in.

The issue happens when filming in 4K resolution at 30fps (frames per second). If the user tries to change the zoom while filming from 1x to 4x zoom, the camera will crash, and the phone will display a message stating that “a problem occurred.”

This bug was found during Android 16’s beta, but it has remained an issue even up to the latest stable update, with many reports on the Google Issue Tracker and R eddit .

Even with the latest update to Android 16, the issue has not been fixed, and Google’s customer care is labelling it as a hardware problem that needs to be repaired outside of the device’s warranty.
