Tropical Storm Dexter is moving further away from the East Coast, but it's still causing waves along the Delmarva coastline.
Dexter is moving into the North Atlantic, away from North America. It will strengthen and become an extratropical low later today through Friday. The cyclone is forecast to weaken beginning Friday night and Saturday.
There's a high risk for rip currents from New York City down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina Aug. 7 and Aug. 8.
Are there other storms that will impact Delaware?
While Dexter moves away, there are still two remaining disturbances in the Atlantic basin that may develop into tropical cyclones. According to the National Hurricane Center , neither is a threat to land until next week. Here's the forecast:
