Cause of apartment fire undetermined, but not suspicious

Jeff Wormington confirmed to the Signal-Star on Aug. 7 that the 18-unit, three-storey building is likely a complete loss, but the fire is not considered suspicious. Article content

The Office of the Ontario Marshal was on scene Aug. 2 to investigate the blaze, which Wormington said started in a second-floor unit.

Huron OPP said emergency crews responded to the fire at 154 Nelson St. E. at 11:20 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. Police described the building as “fully engulfed” when crews arrived on scene. No injuries were reported from the fire, but 26 residents were displaced and were evacuate
