WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — Documents are revealing more about what led up to an officer-involved shooting on 7800 South near Redwood Road in West Jordan on Wednesday.
Shortly after 11 a.m. on Aug. 6, officers with the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force attempted to execute a search warrant for Hugo Fernando Mora Ayala, 19.
As officers approached the suspect, he "went mobile" in his vehicle. Police say they used a boxing technique to stop the car from fleeing.
Mora then began to flee around patrol vehicles and toward an officer, leading the officer to fire multiple rounds through Mora's windshield, police say. According to court documents, Mora then struck the officer causing him to flip over the hood onto the ground next to the rear of the car. The officer sustained road rash and bruis
