(NewsNation) — Prosecutors said Thursday they plan to seek the death penalty against the man charged with killing four people last week in Tennessee.

Austin Drummond, 28, appeared by video feed from jail before a judge, two days after he was arrested in the killings of the parents, grandmother and uncle of an infant found abandoned in a stranger's yard in Tiptonville last Thursday.

At the hearing, Drummond told the judge that he operated a business and stated he wants a speedy trial in the case, according to ABC News.

The judge entered a not guilty plea on Drummond's behalf because a lawyer had not yet been appointed, but Drummond was later granted a court-appointed attorney, per ABC News.

The judge also ordered Drummond held without bond. Drummond is due back in court August 14.
