A team from Chicagoland's western suburbs is headed to Williamsport.

Clarendon Hills Little League defeated West Side Little League of Hamilton, Ohio, 9-4, on Wednesday night in the Great Lakes Region Tournament championship game in Whitestown, Indiana. The game was televised on ESPN.

By winning the Great Lakes Region title, Clarendon Hills advances to the Little League World Series, scheduled for Aug. 13-24 at Little League International Complex in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The Little League World Series includes 10 regional champions from around the U.S. and 10 international champions from around the world.

Clarendon Hills represented Illinois in the Great Lakes Region Tournament by previously advancing out of the state tournament.

The team went 3-1 in the regional tournamen
