MADISON (WKOW) -- The Department of Natural Resources is looking to issue a permit of rhte incidental taking of a rare frog.

Incidental take refers to the unintentional loss of endangered or threatened animals or plants.

The removal may result from the ATC Y-109 Darlington to Rock project in Iowa and Lafayette counties.

ATC (American Transmission Company) is proposing the rebuild of Y-109 Darlington to Rock Branch, which consists of approximately 14 miles of the existing Y-109 electric transmission line between the existing Darlington and Rock Branch Substations.

The incidental take would not put the species overall population at risk.
