Explosion at Noblesville water plant injures 1

The Noblesville Fire Department responded to reports of an explosion shortly after 1 p.m. Aug. 7 in the 800 block of Wayne Street, near the Indiana American Water Treatment Plant. Upon arrival, firefighters located one adult male victim seated on the sidewalk outside the structure. He was evaluated and transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for observation. Fire crews quickly secured the area, and a shelter-in-place order was issued for the surrounding neighborhood.
