TENNESSEE COLONY, Texas — A man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in Anderson County has been taken into custody.

Cyrus Johnson, 23, has been identified as the suspect in connection with the shooting death of Kia-Patrick Roushelle Walker, 20, on Thursday, Aug. 7, in the Tennessee Colony area, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said.

Around 7:30 a.m., the sheriff's office was told by the Palestine Police Department that they heard about a potential shooting victim in Tennessee Colony. Johnson was identified as the possible shooter with a witness saying he killed a woman and left her in Tennessee Colony.

At about the same time, the sheriff's office received a tip saying someone found a dead woman, who was identified as Walker, in a parking lot near the intersection of State Highway 3
