A Homestead charter school teacher has been arrested months after she allegedly threw a shoe at a student, police said.

Sandra Marta Colombo, 61, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of child abuse with no great bodily harm, records showed. Miami-Dade Corrections

The alleged incident happened back on Feb. 28 while Colombo was working at The Charter School at Waterstone at 855 Waterstone Way, an arrest report said.

An officer who responded to the school was told Colombo threw a shoe at a student and instead hit another child.

One student witness said she threw the shoe to get someone's attention, and the shoe hit the other child in the ear, the report said.
