A man – who is already serving life in prison for a separate homicide -- was indicted in the cold case murder and sexual assault of a South Jersey woman nearly 15 years after her death, officials said.

On Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, Eddie Sykes, 55, of Mullica Township, New Jersey, was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for the first-degree murder, first-degree felony murder and first-degree aggravated sexual assault of Evelyn Caez in 1991. Caez was 23-years-old at the time of her death.
