(QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The U.S. Marshals Service is asking for the public’s help in locating Jonathan Martzes Petty, who is wanted for murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to investigators, Petty is accused of shooting and killing a Cleveland County resident on March 29, 2024. Authorities said he has a lengthy criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous. Petty has been on the run now for more than a year.

He's described as a 42-year-old man, standing 6'0" tall, weighing around 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force is offering a $2,500 reward for any information that leads to his arrest. If you know anything about where Petty might be, you're asked to call TFO Terry or call the U.S. Marshal
