Before Killeen first responders — and later, community members — came to the rescue, the pitbull dog known as “Dubz” was barely hanging on, with parts of his body already starting to decay, according to an arrest affidavit that outlines the accusations against a 45-year-old man who now is facing up to 10 years in prison.
On Wednesday, Jeffrey Yuzon Ignacio of Killeen was indicted on a third-degree felony charge of cruelty to a non-livestock animal causing serious bodily injury. Ignacio was booked into the Bell County Jail on July 7, and was being held on Thursday with bonds totaling $113,000, including misdemeanor charges of evading arrest, harassment and driving with a suspended license.
Ignacio was taken into law enforcement custody on July 5.
“Officers with KPD conducted a traffic st
