TWIN FALLS — Police fired shots Wednesday night in a parking lot near Costco after a man rammed his car into multiple police vehicles, according to the Twin Falls Sheriff's Office.

No one was injured and one man is in custody. The Critical Incident Task Force is investigating, with Jerome County Sheriff's Office acting as the lead agency.

Idaho State Police and Twin Falls County Sheriff's deputies responded to a welfare check in the parking lot late Wednesday night, police say. When officers arrived, a man rammed multiple police vehicles. Officers then fired shots.

The man fled the parking lot westbound in his car at high speed. Officers used spike strips and performed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle near Poleline Road and U.S. Highway 93, police say.
