Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and the step-son of Reba McEntire, has passed away after a three-year battle with cancer, according to People . He was 48.

Clarkson had hinted at his illness earlier this week, canceling her Vegas shows because of Blackstock’s illness. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote on Instagram yesterday.
