STEVENS POINT – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association announced Thursday, Aug. 7 via press release, the formation of a state-wide charitable organization designed with intentions to advance high school athletics across the state through “support and innovation.”

Aiming to serve more than 510 schools, 185,000 student-athletes, and 1,000 licensed officials, the program, through funds, grants, programs and scholarships, is looking to focus on three specific areas.

Expanding and creating more opportunities within Wisconsin school’s athletic programs, providing risk-management resources to student-athletes, and better developing WIAA officials through targeted training programs.
