PHILADELPHIA − The Eagles defense should get a rare preseason gift from an opponent.
That's because the Cincinnati Bengals are expected to play their starters in the Aug. 7 preseason game against the Eagles, giving players fighting for starting jobs a valuable opportunity to prove themselves.
That's especially true for the Eagles' defense, with some key positions up for grabs. Those Eagles players, assuming they play, will go against quarterback Joe Burrow, along with star wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
In the secondary, Kelee Ringo and Adoree Jackson are competing at cornerback for the chance to start opposite Quinyon Mitchell. Ringo and Jackson, thus, will get a chance to face one of the top wide receiver tandems in the NFL.
