ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Two films, “Jacob Beats Up Nate” and “Summer 2001” are set to be filmed in St. Louis this month and next according to a call for extras put out by a local casting company.

“Jacob Beats Up Nate” is a comedy movie set in St. Louis that is written and directed by J. Lee. The film received a $100,000 grant from St. Louis Film Project in April. The grant sponsors require 75% of the grant funds to be spent in St. Louis City and for the film to be complete by January 2026. Darryl Frierson is listed as the grant recipient for the project.
