ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A woman incarcerated at the Ontario County Jail is facing new charges after allegedly assaulting another inmate, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Jennifer A. Quijano was arrested on Aug. 5 and charged with second-degree assault following an investigation into an incident that occurred inside the jail on July 31. Deputies say Quijano struck another inmate in the face and head multiple times just before 6 p.m., causing physical injury.

The incident took place while Quijano was already in custody at the jail on County Complex Drive. She was arraigned in CAP Court and remains incarcerated.

Quijano is currently in jail on charges of murder in the second degree for the death of Sam Nordquist. Nordquist suffered a horrific murder earlier this year in O
