PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Portland City Council adopted a resolution on Wednesday to create a Unified Housing Strategy in an effort to propel the city away from its housing affordability and homelessness crises.
The resolution directs the city administrator to work with city bureaus to create one actionable housing strategy, “that moves Portland from crisis response to long-term solutions, and toward safe, stable, affordable housing for all,” according to a press release from Avalos’ office.
The resolution notes that the city already has different housing and homelessness plans; however, "there is not a place where all these policy priorities, workplans, investment priorities, and operational areas are outlined together into a single comprehensive strategy."
