BURBANK, Calif. – Disney announced plans to launch a new streaming app next year that will merge Hulu and Disney Plus into a single platform.

This move follows Disney's acquisition of the remaining stake in Hulu from Comcast in June, giving the company full control of the streaming service.

Despite the launch of the combined app, customers will still have the option to purchase standalone subscriptions for either Hulu or Disney Plus.

More information about the launch and potential changes to subscription plans is expected to be released in the coming months.
