Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was diagnosed with an aggravated disc, head coach Sean McVay confirmed on Thursday (August 7) via NFL Network 's Ian Rapoport .
"Talking to reporters now, #Rams coach Sean McVay confirms the diagnosis and says Matthew Stafford will workout before their preseason game on Saturday. If all goes well, he'll practice Monday. Progress," Rapoport wrote on his X account.
Rapoport had previously reported that Stafford was "dealing with an aggravated disc and has received an epidural to help him deal with it" on Wednesday (August 6).
"Los Angeles has called him week-to-week, being cautious, but with plans for him to be ready for Week 1," Rapoport added in his initial post.
