When Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward takes the field in Saturday’s preseason contest at Tampa Bay, it will mark his first in-game opportunity to develop chemistry with receivers and to display the progress he has made since getting drafted in April.
Ward, who probably won’t play more than a couple of series against the Buccaneers, has an interesting mixture of veterans and young wide receivers at his disposal.
He and Calvin Ridley, who has topped 1,000 yards in three of his six seasons, have seemingly clicked from the first time Ward started throwing to the smooth wideout.
But Ward will also have to learn to lean on two other experienced starters, Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson.
Lockett, a 10-year veteran who’s topped 1,000 yards four times in his career, should prove especially va
