Delta Air Lines is one of four United States operators using widebody aircraft domestically. While it has fewer services in August than United, it has more than Hawaiian and American. Cirium Diio data shows that Delta has nearly a third of the nation's twin-aisle operations in the peak summer month. It is by far the fastest-growing user, with its activity up by 26% compared to last August.
Delta uses its widebodies on 21 domestic routes . However, just two of these ( New York JFK to Los Angeles and San Francisco) account for almost half of its offering. These flights will be partly, if not fully, replaced by its incoming 148-seat, low-capacity, high-premium A321neos , of which 16 seats will turn into fully flat beds.
