MISSOULA — Coming off the first undefeated regular season in program history, the Valley Christian Eagles have been forced to leave the ranks of Montana 8-man football.
"We found ourselves in a disheartening situation," coach Jim Cissell expressed. "We did not have enough students who want to play football. We had nine who wanted to continue.
"I believe that wasn't enough to complete a full season. That decision moved the attention to find a way to get those nine to play."
Valley Christian is eight students over the limit required to play on the 6-man level, so the school petitioned the MHSA to co-op with Class B Missoula Loyola. The petition was approved Wednesday.
