Sixteen-time Academy Award-winning director Stanley Kramer filmed his first comedy in the early ’sixties. It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World let out all the stops with a huge, expensive, all-star cast. It was apparently too big (and good) to fail, as it became one of the highest-grossing films of all time, and is wildly entertaining today, even if the star power of the cast isn’t what it was sixty years ago.
