Democratic strategist James Carville is now publicly apologizing to First Lady Melania Trump over a podcast episode in which he delved into her alleged history with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The Hill reported Thursday that Carville — who engineered former President Bill Clinton's rise to power — has now edited out parts of a YouTube video in which he spoke about the first lady's purported connections to Epstein. On her official X account, he first lady posted an image of Carville's apology along with a screenshot of his YouTube video with a red X drawn through it.
"After the episode, we received a letter from Melania Trump’s lawyer," Carville said in his latest podcast. "He took issue with our title of one of those YouTube videos from that episode and a couple of comments I made about the first lady."

"We took a look at what they complained about and we took down the video and edited out those comments from the episode," the Democratic strategist continued. "I also take back these statements and apologize."
Carville's apology comes roughly a week after the Daily Beast retracted an article it published in which author Michael Wolff claimed Melania met Donald Trump through Epstein. The Beast replaced the text of the article with an editor's note that reads: "After this story was published, The Beast received a letter from First Lady Melania Trump’s attorney challenging the headline and framing of the article. After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologizes for any confusion or misunderstanding."
Wolff — a longtime Trump biographer — wrote the bestselling book "All or Nothing" about Trump's 2024 campaign. He also authored the 2018 book "Fire and Fury," which relied heavily on interviews with former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon. New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman accused Wolff of being loose with the facts in his 2018 book.
In response to the first lady's tweet, one X user posted an image of Trump and the future first lady at Mar-a-Lago in February of 2000, where both Epstein and his longtime girlfriend and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell are also seen in the frame. Prince Andrew is also seen in the photo, standing between Melania and Epstein.
