BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County fire coordinator Bill Rector said things are changing for the better at the newly formed Warren County Fire Department, and hopefully it brings more bodies to the fight.
Warren County for a long time has relied on volunteers to fight fires outside of city limits, but now there is a paid force operating during critical day time hours. However, they haven’t given up their volunteers just yet.
The county is rolling things out slowly to better protect the residents of Warren County, the first part of that being how they staff the force. It can be hard for volunteers to respond during the work day, so the county made firefighting their work day.
Still, they can’t fully staff every department during the day and night just yet without working out some hurdles
